The Friends of the Grand River has taken over cleaning virtually all the roads on both sides of the cold water section of the Grand. The first clean up removed over 50 bags of garbage, 10 bins of recyclable and $10.30 worth of beer bottles from the roadside. We are in the process of getting a new coordinator for this position.

Our River Watch Program has been a huge success both as a tool to educate anglers on the special regulations and to discourage poaching. Our river watchers are trained by the OMNR and patrol the river in pairs recording any offenses to the special regulations informing the individuals of the special regulations. Charges have resulted to individuals who choose to ignore the special regulations. This program has had special acknowledgements from both the Grand River Conservation Authority and Ministry of Natural Resources.
