PUBLIC MEETING TO PRESENT THE GRAND RIVER TAILWATER FISHERIES MANAGEMENT PLAN, MAY 25 IN ELORA

ELORA- The Steering Committee for the Grand River Tailwater Fisheries Management Plan would like to invite the public to an Open House to present a final draft of the Grand River Tailwater Fisheries Management Plan.

This Open House will take place at the Wellington Terrace Home for the Aged on Cuthbert St. in Elora on Tuesday May, 25 @ 7:00pm .

A Steering Committee has been meeting for the past year to complete a document that will aid in the management and development of this significant fishery for years to come.

Members of the steering committee will be on hand to present the plan solicit final public comment. This Tailwater Fisheries Management Plan was one of 42 “Best Bets” outlines in the Grand River Fisheries Management Plan.

The Steering Committee consists of representatives from the following organizations:

Belwood Lake Cottager's Association, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, Friends of the Grand River, Grand River Conservation Authority, Grand Guides Co-op, Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club, Ministry of Natural Resources, Township of Centre Wellington and Trout Unlimited Canada.
