Grand Opportunities 2004
Ontario's Only In-River Fly Fishing Forum
Grand Opportunities is back for an 8th season. Friends of
the Grand River will be hosting this event at Belwood Lake
Conservation Area on June 5th 2004. There are a variety of
activities that will keep the avid angler or the beginner
occupied for the day.
The unique in-river seminars are the cornerstone of this
event and we will again have some of Canada's best instructors
helping you improve your fly fishing skills. There is also
Ontario's largest used equipment sale where you can turn that
old equipment collecting dust in to cash and contribute to
a great cause. Try out the newest products from manufacturer's
like SAGE and join us for a wonderful dinner catered by the
Breadalbane Inn. This event offers you the opportunity to
meet many other fly anglers of all skill
levels.
New this year, we will be having a fly fishing skills challenge.
Get members of your local club or your fishing buddies together
to participate in this fun event. Fly Fishing skills are optional!

Only 400, $10- tickets will be sold, for the single prize
to be drawn at Grand Opportunities Forum on 05 June at Belwood
Conservation Area in the Hampton Barn, site of our banquet.
The prize, donated by SAGE Fly Rods and its Ontario SAGE Dealers,
along with Bob McKenzie Agencies (SAGE Representative), has
a retail value of $1600.
For 2004, SAGE has generously donated a saltwater/steelhead/salmon
fishing travel outfit, consisting of: SAGE 2004 model 8-wt,
9-foot, 4-pc Xi2 Rod (890-4 Xi2); SAGE Disc Drag Reel (3400D),
SAGE Equator Taper Line (WF8F), and a SAGE logo fishing cap.
Donations by SAGE in the past 4 years for FOGR's conservation
raffle have raised over $13,000, and with this donation --
the most generous to date -- we expect to continue the fundraising
tradition in fine style!
As in previous years, there is a $5 discount on new or renewal
memberships if raffle ticket(s) are purchased at the same
time as the membership.
