On behalf of the Membership and Board of Friends of the Grand River, I‘d like to acknowledge and thank anyone who took part in last weekend’s (Saturday June 26th, 2010) Spey clave at Been park, Paris, Ontario.
A special thank you to Randy Wilson, OJ MacDonald, Neil Houlding, Taryn Wagner and anyone else who either helped to coordinate the 2010 Spey Clave or hosted the presenters in their homes.
To the presenter’s who willingly gave up their personal time, in order to give back to the resource and promote the sport of Spey casting, thank you.
The reps, businesses and individuals that provided merchandise for the Raffle which was so appreciated. Thank you.
The reps that willing set up displays and let us play with the latest and greatest equipment, Thank you.
Those individuals that prepared the food and severed it at the BBQ, thank you.
To anyone that I missed, I extend my apology for missing you, but please consider yourself thanked and as important as anyone else, in the success of this year Spey Clave.
As I said, in the short talk that I gave about Friends of the Grand River and why I’m president or why someone becomes a member of a volunteer organization, it is to give something back. Consider yourself as someone who gives back through your actions, if you were at the Spey clave, you gave back and I thank you for that.
This weekend through the generosity of so many, the Spey Clave raised over $3100.00 for the betterment of the Grand River watershed.
Friends of the Grand River are honoured and appreciative of this generous donation. Thank you for having chosen Friends of the Grand River to be this year’s recipient.
